Askra the Valley of Muses

Across the hillslopes of beautiful Boeotia, in the region of the ancient town Askra, sit the family-owned olive groves of Lymperis Family. Ancient Askra is believed to be the homeland of poet Hesiod, but also the origin of the Nine Muses. The Valley of Muses was a sacred forest near to Ancient Askra. It was considered a place of inspiration, where the arts were blooming and the Muses were celebrated as goddesses of literature and arts, such as poetry, lyric song, and myth.

It was that heritage culture along with the long family tradition in olive-farming that inspired us to craft the ASKRA The Valley of Muses Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Our extra virgin olive oil comes from our private groves and other small, family-run farms. We maintain the traditional farming methods and the hand-harvesting techniques handed down to us from generation to generation. Our olive oil is cold-extractedfrom hand-picked olives, within hours of harvesting, with modern, ecofriendly procedures here in our birthplace, the homeland of Muses. No chemicals are used during the process so as to preserve all taste and valuable nutrientsof the olive fruit.

Our manufacturing facilities are equipped with top-of-the-range equipment and fully certified according to ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, to ensure exceptional quality standards.
