Philion Elaion

The cultivation of the olive tree has been interwoven with the Greek land for centuries. Since ancient times an olive branch has signified reconciliation, a willingness to cooperate and appease, alliance, peace and prosperity. We drew inspiration from this concordance of concepts in order to name the extra virgin olive oil we produce “PHILION OIL”. For precisely in the word “PHILION” the concepts of friendship and hospitality, of alliance and co-operation are encapsulated. No other name could accurately describe the qualities of our pure extra virgin olive oil. Because it is amicably related to the health of the human body and it acts as its ally. It is inextricably linked with the fertile Greek land and the production. It is a characteristic of hospitality and courtesy, since you can easily treat a guest at home to a little pure olive oil spread on a slice of sweet smelling freshly baked bread. Bread, wine and olive oil are the three basic commodities on every table in Greece.
